Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

PenSmith ("we", "us") operates pensmith.ai. This policy explains what we collect, how your text is processed, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Your email address when you sign up. For logged-in users we keep a history of your recent humanisations (the input and output text, plus a short preview) so you can revisit and reuse past work, along with your usage counts and progress (XP, streak, badges).

How your text is processed

To detect or humanise text, we send it to a trusted third-party AI processing provider over an encrypted connection. They process it to return a result and are contractually limited to that purpose. By submitting text, you consent to this third-party processing. Please don't paste confidential or personal information you are not authorised to share. Demo text from logged-out visitors is processed the same way and is never saved to your account.

Third-party services

Supabase (authentication & database), Upstash (rate limiting), our AI processing provider (detection & humanisation), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Retention & your rights

We keep account data until you delete it. You can export or delete your data at any time: delete your account and all associated data from your account page, or email support@pensmith.ai for access, correction, or deletion requests.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for login and security, and optional analytics. See our Cookie Policy.

No guaranteed outcomes

PenSmith is a writing aid. AI detection is probabilistic, and we make no claim that any text will pass or fail any particular third-party detector.
